Greater Las Vegas Fisher House
Fisher Houses are comfort homes where military and veterans families can stay free of charge, while a loved one is in the hospital. The Las Vegas Fisher House supports both the VA Hospital and the Mike O'Callaghan Federal Medical Center, located on Nellis Air Force Base.
Our Post takes great pride in supporting the Fisher House, as our Past Commander, Vic "Doc" Moss, was instrumental in beginning the effort to build our Fisher House. It was based Doc's personal experiences with medical care, while he was still active duty during his career. When "Doc" retired, his passion for the Fisher Houses led to our Post providing the seed money to stand up the Nevada Veterans Foundation (NVF). He helped helped write the initial bylaws of the NVF, as well as working on the application for the NVF's tax exempt status. Without this "spark" to light the fire, it's is hard to imagine a Fisher House being built in Las Vegas.

Throughout the year, our Post continues to donate time, effort and money to continue helping our Fisher House.
